Lectio Vergiliana 2019

The 2019 installment of the annual Lectio Vergiliana, a performative reading in Latin of a portion of Vergil's Aeneid will take place on Thrusday, April 11, from 10am-2pm.

This event will feature a reading of the following two books of the Aeneid:

  • Book 6 (Aeneas visits the underworld, reconnects with figures from his past, and sees a vision the glory of Rome to come)
  • Book 11 (The Trojans grieve for the dead Pallas, while the leader of the Volscians, the warrior queen Camilla, attempts to fend of the Trojans)

Thanks to a Faculty-Staff Interaction Grant, refereshments will be provided.
