All Monday events in Education, Room 240

9:00am—Reception for First Year Graduate Students

10:30am—Diagnostic Test: Greek (required for all First Year Students and anyone interested in serving as a GAT for GRK courses)

11:15am—Diagnostic Test: Latin (required for all First Year Students and anyone interested in serving as a GAT for LAT courses)

12:00pm—Grad Student Meeting (All graduate students expected)

12:00pm—Lunch (provided)

1:30–2:30pm—Reception for Faculty and First Year Graduate Students

3:00–4:30pm—Departmental GAT Orientation, Faculty Roundtable (All GATs expected)

 

Tuesday, August 16

9:00am–4:45pm—COH GAT Orientation, required for all first year students – Modern Languages Room 350

 

Wednesday, August 17

8:00am–12:00pm—New Graduate Student Orientation, optional for first year students

11:30–1:00pm—Phase 2 of GAT orientation: Introduction to the Theory and Practice of Latin Teaching (including Classroom Tech)  Learning Services Building, Room 219 (Required for Latin GATs who have not taught Latin with the Department before)

8:30am–10:50am—New and Returning Students: Individual Meetings with DGS – Learning Services Building, Room 220

1:00–4:00pm—Classical Archaeology Diagnostic Exam (required for first-year students in the Classical Archaeology emphasis) – Learning Services, Room 107

1:30–3:00pm—Phase 3 of GAT Orientation: Best Practices for UA Latin Teaching (Latin GATs Only) – Learning Services Building, Room 246
