Grace Gillies has a PhD in Classics from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she has taught courses of Latin, Roman culture, and slavery in the ancient Mediterranean. She has also taught an intensive Classics language and history program at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome. Her research focuses on Roman satire, the ancient city, slavery, the history of women, and concepts of gender and sexuality.
