Classics in the Community

Latin Infusion Programs

The Director of the Basic Latin Program and Graduate Latin Teaching Instructors regularly conduct Latin and Classics outreach in local schools. During AY 2009-10, for example, Dr. Cynthia White and our Latin GATs worked closely with at risk middle school students and their teacher Jaimie Gunderson, a UA Classics alum. View the story on this exciting Latin infusion project at Pima Partnership Academy that aired on PBS's Arizona Illustrated! In AY 2010-11, Dr. Christenson and the Latin GATs launched a very successful infusion program for fifth-graders at Henry Elementary School in Tucson .

If you are a local teacher and would like us to start an outreach program at your school, please feel free to contact the Director of the Basic Latin Program
