Lectio Vergiliana

When
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 19, 2018

2018's Lectio Vergiliana is here!

Organized by Graduate Teaching Assistants and Eta Sigma Phi, participants will celebrate the legacy of Rome's most important poet by reading an entire book of Vergil aloud, in Latin!

This year, the organizers have chosen Aeneid 6, Vergil's vision of the underworld, complete with spooky monsters, loves lost, and a patriotic parade of Romans waiting to be born.

The event will be held in the special collections area of the Main Library, surrounded by beautiful facsimiles of medieval manuscripts of Vergil, on Thursday April 19th, from 11:00-2:00pm, with readings beginning at the top of each hour.

Anyone who would like to participate by reading some of the latin can sign up at this link.

We hope to see you there!
