Monday, August 16

9:00am—Welcome for First Year Graduate Students – Student Union, Santa Rita Room

10:00am—Diagnostic Test: Latin (required for all First Year Students and anyone interested in serving as a GAT for LAT courses) – Student Union, Santa Rita Room

10:45am—Break

11:00am—Diagnostic Test: Greek (required for all First Year Students and anyone interested in serving as a GAT for GRK courses) – Student Union, Santa Rita Room

11:45am—Grad Student Meeting (All graduate students expected) – Student Union, Santa Rita Room

12:30pm—Lunch (provided to go) – Student Union, Santa Rita Room

1:30–2:30pm—Faculty and First Year Graduate Students – Introductions and Meeting via Zoom. (If you need the Zoom link, please contact Dr. Friesen at friesen@arizona.edu.)

3:00–4:30pm—Departmental GAT Orientation, Faculty Roundtable (All graduate student GATs expected) – Student Union, Santa Rita Room (final venue TBD)

 

Tuesday, August 17

            9:00am–4:30pm—COH GAT Orientation, required for all first year student GATs – Modern Languages Room 350, or contact Dr. Friesen at friesen@arizona.edu for Zoom link. (Breakfast [8:30am] and lunch will be provided.)

            9:30am–12:00pm—Returning Students: Faculty Progress Meetings via Zoom. (If you need the Zoom link, please contact Dr. Friesen at friesen@arizona.edu.)

            12:30–3:00pm—Returning Students: Individual Meetings with DGS – Learning Services Building, Room 220, or contact Dr. Friesen at friesen@arizona.edu for Zoom link.

8:00am–2:00pm—New Graduate Student Orientation, optional for first year students

     2:30–4:00pm—Micro-teaching and classroom tech—required for Latin GATs, optional for all GATs

     4:00–5:00pm—Introduction to Theories and Approaches to Latin Teaching—Latin GATs only
